For applications lodged before 18 November 2024

Psychology Support for Existing VOCAT Matters
VOCAT no longer accepts new applications, but it continues to finalise matters lodged before the Financial Assistance Scheme began. If you have a pending application, an existing award or authorised future counselling, Meyer Institute can help you make a psychology-service enquiry.

Which pathway applies?

My application was lodged before 18 November 2024 and is still pending: VOCAT continues to finalise pending applications. Use the existing VOCAT option in our enquiry form.

I have a VOCAT award or future counselling approval: tell us what has been authorised and any reference information you have. Some future-expense arrangements may be administered through FAS during the transition, so the responsible scheme contact must confirm the current payment pathway.

I want to make a new application: use the official FAS portal. Do not use Meyer Institute’s form as a scheme application.

I am unsure: choose ‘Unsure’ in our form. We can clarify what information the practice needs, but we cannot give legal advice or decide which scheme must accept an application.

Useful information

If available, have these details ready:

  • VOCAT reference number

  • date the application was lodged

  • current status or award letter

  • counselling sessions or future expenses authorised

  • contact details for the lawyer, VOCAT/FAS officer or support professional you authorise us to speak with

Legacy disclaimer

Meyer Institute is an independent psychology practice. We cannot vary an award, decide whether a matter transfers to FAS, reopen a finalised matter or provide legal advice. For scheme decisions, contact the responsible VOCAT/FAS service or a legal assistance provider.

FAQs

Can I still make a new VOCAT application?

No. New applications are made to FAS. VOCAT continues only with applications lodged before 18 November 2024.

Will my pending VOCAT application move to FAS?

VOCAT continues to finalise pending applications. Some administration of future assistance may transition; confirm the current arrangement for your matter with the responsible service.

Can Meyer Institute contact VOCAT or FAS for me?

We may liaise about psychology services when you give authority and the practice accepts the matter. We cannot act as your legal representative.

What if my VOCAT matter was finalised?

The transition rules can be case-specific. Check official guidance or seek legal assistance before relying on website information.

Can I use an existing counselling approval?

Possibly, but the practice must verify the written authorisation, provider/payment requirements and current scheme contact before booking.

Tell us that you have an existing VOCAT matter and how it is safe to contact you. You do not need to upload the award or describe the offence online.
