Choose the NDIS psychology pathway that best fits your situation
Not sure what you need?
Not sure whether you need therapy, an assessment or an NDIS report?
NDIS pathways can be confusing. Some people contact us because they already have therapy funding. Others need evidence for access, a plan review, a functional capacity assessment, an autism or intellectual disability assessment, or support from a referrer.
You do not need to know the exact service name before contacting us. The enquiry and referral forms ask the key questions so we can direct the request to the right pathway.
How NDIS psychology usually works
1. Submit an enquiry or referral
Participants, families, support coordinators, GPs and plan managers can use the online form. Upload the NDIS plan and relevant reports if available.

2. We check clinical fit and funding pathway
We review the requested service, plan management type, funding category, goals, risk considerations and appointment preferences.

3. Service agreement and appointment options
Where suitable, we confirm service agreement details, billing pathway, telehealth or in-person options, and the clinician best matched to the request.

4. Therapy, assessment or report begins
Services are matched to the participant goals and the purpose of the referral. Reports are written in functional, practical and NDIS-aligned language where relevant.
NDIS funding and plan management
Meyer Institute can consider enquiries from self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants. If a plan is NDIA-managed, please tell us in the form so we can confirm whether the service pathway is available.
NDIS funding needs to be used in line with the participant plan, NDIS support rules and the relevant billing arrangements. We will clarify the pathway before services commence.
Telehealth across Victoria and in-person options across Melbourne
Telehealth can make psychology easier to access for participants who experience fatigue, anxiety, transport difficulty, mobility barriers, sensory overload or limited local availability.
Where clinically suitable and available, Meyer Institute may also offer in-person appointments at Abbotsford, Blackburn North, Box Hill, Bundoora, Camberwell, Caribbean Park Scoresby, Chadstone, Clayton, Collins Street CBD, Ringwood, Mont Albert, Moorabbin, Narre Warren, Richmond and South Yarra.
FAQs
Can I use my NDIS funding for psychology?
NDIS psychology may be funded where it is a reasonable and necessary disability-related support in the participant plan. Psychology should be linked to disability goals, functional needs, skill building, independence, wellbeing or participation. Funding decisions depend on the plan and the NDIA rules.

Do you work with self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants?
Meyer Institute can consider self-managed and plan-managed NDIS enquiries. If a participant is NDIA-managed, include this in the form so we can confirm the correct service pathway.

Do I need a referral?
A referral is helpful but not always required for a general enquiry. For NDIS-funded services, we usually need the NDIS plan details, plan management type, participant goals and any relevant reports or referral documents.

Can support coordinators refer participants?
Yes. Support coordinators, plan managers, GPs, allied health providers, families and participants can use the NDIS Referral Form to submit details and upload documents.

Can you guarantee NDIS funding or access?
No. Meyer Institute can provide clinically appropriate psychological assessment, treatment and reports. NDIS access, funding and plan decisions are made by the NDIA and relevant plan arrangements.
