For GPs, rehabilitation providers, case managers and referral partners
Meyer Institute accepts workers compensation psychology referrals from GPs, rehabilitation consultants, insurers, case managers, employers, return-to-work coordinators, allied health providers and other referral partners.
Use the referral portal if you want to submit client details, claim information, certificates, approval letters, treatment requests or reports.
FAQs
Is WorkCover the same in every state?
No. Workers compensation is managed differently across Australian states and territories. Victoria uses WorkSafe Victoria / WorkCover terminology, Queensland uses WorkCover Queensland, NSW uses SIRA / workers compensation / icare language, South Australia uses ReturnToWorkSA, and other states and territories have their own pathways.
Do I need an accepted claim before contacting Meyer Institute?
Not necessarily. You can enquire if your claim is accepted, pending, not yet lodged or unclear. Whether treatment can proceed under workers compensation depends on the state scheme, insurer or claims agent decision, approval requirements and clinical suitability.
Can I use telehealth?
Telehealth may be suitable for many workers compensation psychology clients, depending on clinical suitability, scheme requirements and insurer or claims agent approval.
Is Meyer Institute part of WorkCover or WorkSafe?
No. Meyer Institute is an independent psychology practice. Funding eligibility, approval and payment decisions are determined by the relevant scheme, insurer, self-insurer or claims agent.
