About Meyer Institute

Meyer Institute is a registered psychologist-led practice offering psychological therapy and assessment in Melbourne and by telehealth across Australia where suitable. The aim is to make the pathway clear: understand the question, confirm fit and practical requirements, then agree on a focused plan.

Psychology support built around the question that matters
People often contact a psychology practice without knowing the name of the service, diagnosis or assessment they need. You can start by describing what is affecting daily life, what has prompted the referral and what you hope will be different.
For therapy, the early appointments focus on understanding concerns, goals, context and whether the approach is a suitable fit. For assessment, the referral question guides the measures used, information gathered and recommendations provided. This avoids a one-size-fits-all process.

Services
Psychological therapy
Evidence-informed support for concerns such as anxiety, depression, sleep difficulty, panic, stress and burnout, trauma symptoms, grief, work stress, chronic-pain-related distress and relationship difficulties.
Psychological assessment
Cognitive, IQ, learning, ADHD, autism, executive-function, memory and adaptive-functioning pathways for children, adolescents and adults, selected around the referral question and intended use.
Funded and professional pathways
Information and enquiry routes are available for NDIS, workers compensation and WorkCover, TAC, Comcare, DVA and other approved pathways. Eligibility, clinical fit, referral documents and written funding approval are checked before services are confirmed.

How the process works
1. Start with a short enquiry. Tell us the service or question, age group, location or telehealth preference, and likely payment or funding pathway.
2. Fit and requirements are checked. This may include availability, referral documents, approval, the intended report audience or whether part of an assessment must occur in person.
3. The next step is confirmed in writing. You receive the agreed appointment, fee or funding arrangement and any preparation information.
4. Goals and communication are agreed. Therapy goals, assessment scope and any reporting or referrer communication are discussed with consent.

Professional, ethical and privacy-focused
Psychology services are provided within applicable registration, professional, ethical and privacy obligations. Consent, confidentiality and its limits are explained as part of the service. Information is collected for a clear purpose, and communication with another person or organisation occurs with consent or where otherwise required by law.
Meyer Institute does not guarantee a diagnosis, treatment outcome, funding decision or acceptance of a report by another organisation. These decisions depend on the evidence, agreed scope and the requirements of the relevant decision-maker.

Melbourne and online
Selected in-person appointments may be available in Vermont and Endeavour Hills. Secure telehealth is available across Australia where suitable. The service, age, privacy, technology and any standardised administration requirements are considered before the appointment mode is confirmed.
