Tasmania’s MPCSO is a supervised community-work pathway through MPES and Community Corrections. Meyer Institute can discuss separate psychological support. Our approved fine-credit provider status has not been confirmed.

General information · MPES and Community Corrections decide eligibility and suitability. Psychology appointments do not automatically count as community-service hours. Fees are separate.

The current fine-hardship pathway

MPES assesses financial means before referring an applicant to Community Corrections for suitability. If made, the order converts monetary penalty debt into supervised community-service hours under current statutory rates and conditions.

How Meyer Institute may help

Psychological care can support a person's wellbeing and functioning, and a psychologist may provide clinically appropriate information with consent. It must be presented separately from the MPCSO work-credit mechanism unless MPES or Community Corrections provides a specific written direction.

Is a Tasmanian MPCSO the same as a WDP?

No. It is a supervised community-service order, not a general treatment-credit program.​

Can psychology appointments count as MPCSO hours?

Psychology appointments are separate from the supervised community work described by MPES. Follow only the activity and conditions confirmed by MPES and Community Corrections.

Who decides whether I am suitable?

MPES assesses financial eligibility and Community Corrections assesses suitability for community service.​

Can Meyer Institute apply for an MPCSO?

No. The person deals with MPES and Community Corrections. Meyer Institute can address a separate clinical request.​
