Build a thoughtful psychology career with Meyer Institute. We welcome enquiries about registered psychologist casual employment, registered psychologist subcontractor opportunities, and paid provisional psychologist roles. Explore Melbourne in-person and hybrid work, alongside Australia-based telehealth where the work, registration and supervision arrangements are suitable.

Recruitment enquiries go to operations@meyerinstitute.com.au. Start dates are to be agreed. Provisional psychologist expressions of interest are for paid casual work at A$50+ per hour, with hours, the final rate, supervision and applicable entitlements confirmed before an offer.

Three pathways for psychologists

  • Registered psychologist employee opportunities: casual employment, with duties and hours discussed individually.

  • Registered psychologist contractor opportunities: a separate subcontractor pathway for generally registered psychologists, with commercial terms agreed before engagement.

  • Provisional psychologist paid expressions of interest: casual employee enquiries at A$50+ per hour, subject to registration, pathway and supervision requirements.

Registered psychologist jobs: casual employee pathway

We are looking for generally registered psychologists who enjoy careful clinical work, clear communication and helping clients make practical progress. Experience in therapy, psychological assessment or both is welcome. Your work can be discussed around demonstrated competence, preferred client groups and the services you enjoy providing.

  • Provide psychological therapy within your training and professional scope.

  • Complete assessment interviews, feedback and reports where you have the relevant training and experience.

  • Develop treatment plans, review progress and maintain accurate records.

  • Communicate with referrers and other professionals with appropriate consent.

  • Manage agreed appointments and report deadlines, and raise clinical concerns promptly.

You need current general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia, sound clinical judgement, reliable communication and strong written documentation. Experience with assessments, NDIS participants or work-related psychological injury is welcome where it fits your practice. An endorsement is welcome, and generally registered psychologists with relevant experience are encouraged to enquire.

This is a casual employee pathway. Hours, remuneration, duties, location and commencement are agreed individually before an offer. Tell us what a sustainable working week looks like for you.

Psychologist contractor opportunities

Generally registered psychologists can also enquire about a separate subcontractor arrangement. Tell us your therapy and assessment experience, preferred client groups, location, availability and proposed working arrangement. We will discuss whether the service scope and practical arrangements suit both parties.

The proposed duties, professional responsibilities, fees or remuneration structure, administration, insurance requirements and written terms are reviewed before engagement. No fixed split, guaranteed caseload or start date is promised on this page.

Provisional psychologist jobs and paid role expressions of interest

We welcome expressions of interest from provisional psychologists and applicants approaching eligibility for provisional registration who want to develop their clinical skills in paid casual employment. The starting advertised rate is A$50+ per hour. Weekly hours, the final rate, applicable entitlements and supervision arrangements are agreed before an offer.

A psychology undergraduate degree alone does not establish eligibility to practise as a psychologist. Please explain your completed qualifications, current registration or eligibility, training pathway, expected registration date and any university or Board requirements.

  • Provide supervised psychological support within an agreed scope and level of competence.

  • Assist with assessment interviews, administration, scoring and reports where training and supervision support the work.

  • Prepare for supervision, bring clinical questions and follow through on learning tasks.

  • Maintain clear records, complete administration carefully and seek help early.

  • Develop clinical responsibility as skills and pathway requirements are demonstrated.

Before a role is confirmed, we must agree the supervisor, supervision schedule, learning plan, duties, costs and responsibilities, and complete any required program or Board approvals. This EOI does not guarantee a supervisor, approved placement, Medicare eligibility, a full caseload or a commencement date.

Melbourne psychologist opportunities and telehealth across Australia

In-person and hybrid work in Melbourne depends on your location, the services you can competently provide, room availability and any supervision requirements. Selected practice appointments are offered in Vermont and Endeavour Hills. Discuss the actual rooms and working arrangements before accepting a role.

Australia-based telehealth psychologist enquiries are welcome from Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia, Tasmania, the ACT and the Northern Territory. Remote work must suit the clinical work and professional requirements. You will need a private workspace and suitable technology. Provisional telehealth work also depends on the approved training pathway and supervision arrangements.

Our organisation and correspondence address is Suite 347, Level 2, 260 Collins Street, Melbourne VIC 3000. This address is not a promise that a particular role is based in Collins Street.
